Nursery Home Learning Challenge - Rhyme

Your challenge should you choose to accept...

Nursery class have been listening to lots of different rhymes, and rhyming stories to introduce us to the wonderful world of langauge. We have been reading 'Spaghetti with the Yeti', plus lots of traditional tales with a repetitive and rhyming twist. These tales include The Billy Goats Gruff, The Three Little Pigs, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

We will continue to look at rhyme using objects and toys in the classroom. Can you help your child begin to understand rhyme by bringing in objects to match the spoken words. For e.g. cat-hat-bat-rat-mat / fan-pan-can / log-frog. (no real animals please!!)

We will use these items to create a rhyming station for children to explore.

You can also teach your child some simple rhyming words which we can record in class.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Many thanks

Miss Kelbie
