Home Learning

Welcome to our Home Learning page. Here we will provide you with lots of information to support parents and carers in undertaking home based learning and fun activities to support your child's education during this period spent at home.  You can take as much or as little as you require from here, this is just to provide you with ideas and easy access to the vast amout of resources that are available online.  We have also provided below some suggested daily routines, you may have your own ideas and these may just offer some inspiration and structure if needed.

School contact - We are available at all times during the school day to support you. You can email school using this email address NorthWalkdenPrimary.PupilContact@salford.gov.uk or phone 01204 571039. We will respond to all emails and phone messages within 24 hours.

PURPLE MASH - As a school, Purple Mash is used to support teaching and learning in all areas of the curriculum. All children at North Walkden have their own log in for Purple Mash and use it regularly in school time. Class teachers are able to set specific work tasks for children to complete at home, should school closures continue for more than a couple of weeks. Teachers will set tasks on a Monday, which children will need to complete by the following Friday. All children have been given their log in or will receive it with their home learning packs by 27th March.  We have reminded the children how they should access the work set by their class teacher but if you need any assistance please just contact school.

To log into Purple Mash, please visit http://www.purplemash.com and select 'Find my school's log in page'. Please then select North Walkden from the drop down menu. You will then be directed to the children's log in page. Work that has been set will appear in the 2Do section.

EYFS Mini Mash section - ‚Äč Once logged in, children in Nursery and Reception should access tasks by selecting 'Mini Mash'. Children can then work through fun and engaging online activities linked to all areas of the EYFS Curriculum.

Below there are also lists of many more resources.  On our 'Learning Zone' tab you will also find information on how to access to school subscriptions for further online learning resources.  We will continue to add to this page so please keep checking.

Suggestions for daytime routines

To help alleviate idle hands and too much screen time over the school closure, we have devised a suggested timetable for children whilst at home.  We hope this helps children and families to fill their days with purposeful activities which will help our mental and physical well-being in these uncertain times.
