Each year, we teachers start out so hopeful and excited to begin the new journey with your child. We come in with hopes and dreams of what the year will be like - and all of those visions include good things for your child. Whilst we are willing to put in the effort, the hours, the creativity, the enthusiasm - having your support results in your child's overall success!

Super Smiler this week - Kelson :-)

Word of the week (predictable) winner - Ebony - well done

We have had a lovely first week back after what sounds like amazing breaks over Christmas! However, we have really enjoyed getting back into the routine of the school day.

We began our new Science topic this week - Light and Shadow - so we decided to make shadow puppets and tell stories to the class with them. Take a look at some of them below:

Week 3

Word of the week winners - Jack and Stefan - well done! Also well done to Luca for a very close 3rd place!

Attendance - This week Year 6 were awarded a Silver trophy!

What a week! Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed our Martial Arts session on Wednesday. Enso Martial Arts delivered an introductory lesson to all of Year 6. We learned how to do: a flying kick, a controlled chop and some very imprortant self defense moves. Take a look at some of us in action:

Word of the week winner - Kacie - well done!

Year 6 have had such a busy week. Thank you to all grown ups that joined us on Tuesday for our Parent Open Afternoon.

In English, we have been learning about how to use the subjunctive form correctly, ready for our Newspaper articles.

We have absolutely conquered Ratio in maths this week - well done to all!

We also sang our half term song in our Music Showcase this week. A class full of angelic voices!

Our Autumn Learning

Week 1 - What a good start to the new half term - well done to Victoria for achieving a Gold Award this week. A big shout out to Tommy and Ethan who have been awarded a Silver.

Our word of the week winner this week was Declan - well done for using our word 'abrupt' in a fantastic sentence!

We began our new writing journey this week in English - which if we are being honest - we found quite tough at first. However, by Thursday - we got the hang of it! Mrs Gardner was so relieved! laugh

We thoroughly enjoyed our Science lesson. We had to build our own circuits. Take a look at some of the pictures below:

Week 2

Well done to Ebony this week for achieveing a Gold star!

Our word of the week winner this week was Tommy  - huge well done!  laugh

In our Topic this week, Year 6 have been learning about the roles of women in the 15th Century. We were so interested and shocked to learn about the expected etiquette of women, for example; Women were not allowed to attend a social event without the company of a married man, Women must not cross the street, Women must not walk across the room.

Week 3

Word of the Week winner - Amelia - Well done laugh

Star of the week certifcate winners - Amira and Jack - Well done laugh

Mrs Gardner's Super Smiler of the week - Reiss laugh

What a week! This week has been anti-bullying week and Year 6 have been really reflecting on how we treat one another at school and at home. We had some very mature ideas and opinions. Some of us came to school on Monday with odd socks (normal for Declan ha!) to show that we are all different. Take a look at some of our feet:

On Friday, we came to school in our own clothes to support the Children in Need charity. I'm sure you'll agree we look fab!

Reminders - Please remember it is Parent's Evening on Wednesday and Year 6 will be visiting Crucial Crew on Thursday.
