World Book Day at North Walkden!
I can honestly say I think this was my favourite World Book day so far! From coming to school in our PJ's, to sharing stories with parents and KS2, I couldn't possibly say which was my favourite activity! The day began with a lovely Parents session in our hall with EYFS. Children thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories with the grown-ups, accompanied by a lovely treat of hot chocolate! We then had the pleasure of having Mrs Warbuton and Mrs Richardson visit out classrooms to read up a cosy, bedtime story. Throughout the afternoon, Year 6 and 4 came to Nursery and Reception to share with us their stories that had been created in the morning and, WOW, I was blown away with the talent, the content and the evident hard work that they had put into their writing. Our day ended with a lovely celebration assembly and awards were given to the 'best listeners'. As a teacher who is passionate about promoting a love of reading, this was such an enjoyable day!
